“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh.”
We’ve had Christmas tunes playing in our house ever since Thanksgiving ended. Our stockings are hung, our tree is up, and our house is decorated. That must mean it’s time to start making Christmas crafts! We loved sharing all of our Christmas tree-themed crafts with you last year. And this year…we are even more excited to share these holly jolly Jingle Bell Christmas Crafts!
You just can’t celebrate Christmas without a few jingle bells ringing…right?!? Jingle bells are always the very first things that our little nugget snatches out of our Christmas storage bins each holiday season. She just cannot contain herself. She hoards the many jingle bells that we’ve acquired over the years and then proudly debuts each and every one as she happily sings Jingle Bells on repeat. So, we decided to take her love for all things jingly and create a few fun and festive holiday crafts!
Magnetic Jingle Bell Sensory Bottle
If you’ve followed along with us for awhile, you know that we became slightly obsessed with sensory bottles last year. We have about 20 of them floating around our house right now. π And this super simple Magnetic Jingle Bell Sensory Bottle is our absolute favorite for this time of year!
What young child doesn’t love shaking a noisemaker – especially when it can become the perfect instrument to accompany a delightful rendition of Jingle Bells?
Perhaps the best part about this holiday-themed sensory bottle is the fact that the jingle bells are also magnetic! That’s right…you can drag the bells all around the bottle with the use of a magnet wand (we like these magnet wands from Amazon).
Aside from a magnet wand, the only other supplies that you will need to make your very own jingle bell sensory bottle are: a plastic bottle (we like to use Voss water bottles for all of our sensory bottles), and some miniature jingle bells (we found ours on sale at Hobby Lobby). This is a sensory bottle that your kiddos can make entirely on their own. All they have to do is open up the bottle, pour in the jingle bells, and secure the lid. Easy peasy!
Jingle Bell Christmas Necklaces
I don’t know about your kiddos, but our little nugget loves crafting her own jewelry. So when we came across some larger jingle bells at Hobby Lobby (while we were purchasing the mini ones for our sensory bottle) we decided that they would make the perfect pendants for some festive holiday necklaces.
We began with a massive color-sorting activity, as we separated all of our red, green, and clear craft beads from the rest of our bead collection. Once our beads were all sorted, we cut a piece of plastic jewelry thread (that we also picked up at Hobby Lobby) and started adding our holiday-colored beads. When it looked like we had filled approximately half of our necklace with beads, we added our large jingle bell pendant (so that it would hang down in the middle of the necklace). Then we added the other half of our colored beads and tied the necklace in a secure knot. Making jingle bell necklaces turned out to be so much fun…Mommy and Daddy decided to make one too!
Jingle Bell Rudolph Craft
Our little nugget’s favorite Christmas song is Rudolph the Red-Nosed ReindeerΒ – she demands to sing it every night before bed during the month of December (along with multiple requests throughout the rest of the year). π So, when I came across these adorable Rudolph Jingle Bell Sticks, over on Pre-K Pages, I just knew we had to make some of our very own!
All you need is a large craft stick, a large red jingle bell, a pair of googly eyes, a brown pipe cleaner, and a hot glue gun. Simply glue the two googly eyes toward the top of the craft stick. Glue the red jingle bell below the eyes. Cut the brown pipe cleaner in half. Glue the middle of the halved pipe cleaner to the back side of the stick (behind the eyes). Bend each side of the pipe cleaner a bit to give them an antler effect. Let all of the hot glue dry completely.
We decided to make two of these, so that our daughter could hold one in each hand while she jingles all the way around the house. These adorable Rudolph jingle bell sticks are super easy to put together and if any of the components ever fall off (due to some rough jingling action) you can just hot glue them right back on. Your kids are going to love these – I promise!
