We can always tell when we stumble upon an outstanding children’s book, because our little nugget will want to read it, over and over and over again. Don’t Ever Look Behind Door 32, by B.C.R. Fegan, has become an instant fan-favorite for the entire family! We continue to find it at the very top of our reading stack. In fact, we’ve read it so many times now, that our daughter has taken to reading it to us…making sure to show us the pictures and everything! ๐
This wonderful story will captivate your little ones from the very beginning, as you’re invited along to explore the magical Hotel of Hoo! You will find every child’s favorite magical and enchanted creatures residing behind the various doors in the hotel (sans unicorns). There are ghosts and goblins, miniature giants, elves, wingless dragons, fairies, baby wizards, vampire mermaids…and more! There is so much exploring to do…just make sure to steer clear of Door 32!
Don’t Ever Look Behind Door 32 is whimsical, enchanting, suspense-building, and fun! We love a story with a rhythmic pattern (we also read a lot of Dr. Seuss), and B.C.R. Fegan absolutely delivers on this front. His thrilling story weaves you throughout all the nooks and crannies of the hotel, as you make your way from Door 1, all the way up, until you find yourself standing right outside Door 32. What would you do? Would you peek inside Door 32?
We absolutely love this magical tale, but the colorful and vibrant illustrations, by Lenny Wen, are what bring the story to life! We pause on every single page to explore the various wonders, and meet the crowd of characters. Our daughter loves the vampire mermaids, and the tea-loving monsters always bring a smile to my face!
When we read the story for the very first time, our little nugget was filled with so much anticipation and wonder, as we continued to increase the door count. She would stop me occasionally to say, “We’re getting closer to Door 32!” And when we finally reached that fateful door, the look on her face was priceless. ๐ It was a mixed expression, one full of excitement and curiosity…and one of hesitation as she braced herself for something dangerous and scary.
“Mommy! Will they look behind Door 32?”
I won’t say whether we looked behind Door 32. I will just leave it all up to you!
