Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Purple. We have rainbows on the brain! If you caught our St. Patrick’s Day craft post yesterday, you already know just how much we’ve been obsessing over rainbows in this house. We simply cannot get enough of the bright and beautiful colors. Our house is already fully decorated for the upcoming holiday, so naturally we had to find a new way to celebrate our love of rainbows. We would like to introduce you to this delicious Froot Loops Rainbow Snack!
Your kids are going to flip over this colorful sweet treat! Not only are the two ingredients totally kid-approved, but it’s a snack that they can make entirely on their own! And it provides an opportunity for them to get creative with their own rainbow designs!
I came across these brilliant Rainbow Cloud Donuts, over on Painted Confetti. They are certain to be the highlight of any St. Patrick’s Day breakfast, snack…or even dessert!
Froot Loops Rainbow Snack
Ingredients/Supplies:
- Froot Loops Cereal
- Mini Powdered Sugar Donuts
- Pipe Cleaners
Instructions:
- Place a pipe cleaner through the hole of a mini powdered sugar donut.
- String the Froot Loops onto the pipe cleaner…in rainbow order…OR…whatever colorful rainbow design your heart desires.
- Cut the pipe cleaner down to the desired size, and place the end into the hole of another mini powdered sugar donut, forming a rainbow arch.
- Enjoy! Just make sure not to eat the pipe cleaners! π
Our little nugget was so pleased to wake up from quiet time, to find mini donuts and Froot Loops sitting on the dining room table! She looked up at me, with a big smile on her face, and asked, “What are we going to do, Mommy?” She loved creating her very own edible rainbow, but it was quick to disappear. π
Rainbows, rainbows, everywhere! If you’re looking for a healthier rainbow snack for your little ones, I’ve come across numerous posts on Instagram and Pinterest lately, featuring beautiful fruit rainbows! Strawberry slices (or raspberries) for the red, mandarin orange slices for the orange, pineapple chunks for the yellow, kiwi slices for the green, blueberries for the blue, and purple grapes for the final flourish!
We love finding ways to be creative with food…it’s loads more fun…AND…we notice that our little nugget is much more likely to try (and enjoy) food, when it’s presented in a creative way.
